The (American?) Irony

Heading into the weekend before the race, Team Turbo Schnitzel was the most prepared it had ever been before a LeMons race. We actually found ourselves shaking the car down on Saturday, doing runs up and down past loading docks behind an abandoned warehouse (secret location near our secret Atlanta bunker). Then we started hearing the knocks from deep down in the engine, and continued to take note of the oil leaking all over the top, bottom and sides of the engine.

We pretty well knew we'd be fixing it here or fixing it at the track, so we decided to fix it in the relative comfort of  the secret bunker Dave's garage. So we pulled the engine and transmission on Sunday morning. See the irony?  Now all of a sudden we're no better prepared than we have ever been for any other LeMons race.  Scheisse!
